先月２４日に地蔵盆を勤めました。毎年 船木町３ヶ寺が当番となって子供たちを迎えます。今年は西願寺が担当寺院でした。最近、子供の集まりが悪いので、寺内で色々作戦を立てて挑みました（笑）。その戦略が見事的中して、多くの子たちが参詣してくれました！
予想を超える多くの参拝 しっかり靴を並べて 上がってくれます。これも教育。
地蔵盆とは、地蔵菩薩の縁日（２４日）に勤める行事で、お盆に近い８月か 旧暦の７月に勤めます。経典によれば、地蔵菩薩が 親より先に亡くなった子供が ” 賽（さい）の河原 ” で苦しんでいるのを救うという功徳があることから、お盆の時期に 子供の守り本尊として加護を祈る習わしがあるのです。
賽の河原（三途の川） 親よりも先に死んだものがここで石積の刑を科せられるといわれ、あと少しで積み上がるというところで鬼が来て、それを崩してしまいますが、最終的にお地蔵様が救って下さいます。
船木の地蔵盆では、この一年間に亡くなられた町内の物故者の方々の供養から始まります。その後、住職の法話、自治会長の挨拶、法楽（出し物）、お菓子を配り子供は解散。その後 座敷に移動し、遺族との親睦会があって全体の解散となります。つまり イベントを楽しむ行事ではなく、世代を超えて地蔵菩薩の加護や町内物故者の遺徳を偲び、時間と空間を共有する場所になっています。年代を超えて、一つのものに思いを馳せることが、今の日本にあるでしょうか？！。とても素晴らしい行事だと再認識しました。

法楽は 寺井純子さんによるオカリナ演奏 琴線に触れる音色に、参詣者はもちろん、 物故者も悦んでおられるように感じました。
刹那的な喜びを求める現代人に、しみじみと湧き上がる悦びを教えてくてた ひとときでした。夏の思い出として、子供たちの心に深く刻まれたことと存じます。ご協力いただいた皆々様に、心より感謝申し上げます。合掌
集客の作戦とは、カブトムシとクワガタのプレゼント！ 女の子は怖がるかと思ってましたが、逆に喜んでました。これも時代です（笑）。夜な夜な採取してくださったS山様、心より感謝申し上げます。
