本年も元旦に修正会（しゅしょうえ）を勤めました。老若男女を超えて 多くの参拝をいただき、皆で一年の幸せをお祈りしました。

ただ 寺内としては、先代が往生し、弟子が巣立ち … 今年は住職一人で読経するものと思ってましたら、一昨年、得度を受けた中２と小６の息子達が「お父さん、僕たちがいるやん。頑張るわ！」と一緒に勤めてくれました。声を震わせながら、懸命に 読経の音頭を取る小僧達を、檀信徒の皆様は、暖かい眼差しで応援してくださいました。西願寺にとっては、阿弥陀さまから 嬉しいお年賀を頂戴しました。今年１７回忌の先々代、３回忌の先代が居たら どんなに喜んでいることでしょう。極楽からの見守りに感謝です。
お経や法話は技術ではありません。真心です。” 真心の共有 ” が法要です。僧侶の自己満足ではいけません。正義におぼれ、慢心し、人を見下してはいけません。様々なお陰で生かされているのですから・・・。西願寺の指針は、謙虚に有縁の方に寄り添うこと。餓鬼にならぬよう、小僧に強く指導していきます。

昨年は縁について深く考えさせられました。しかし、一歩づつ 心を込めて進んでいくうちに、多くの方のご尽力に恵まれ、様々な喜びや気付きがありました。一年前の環境では、思いもつかなかった結果がたくさん出ています。読者の方々も 今やっていることに「意味あるのかな？」って思うときもあるかもしれません。 人との出会いも、自分の周りで起きる出来事も、その最中は意味なんか分からないかもしれません。しかし、振り返ってみると気付くことがあります。「あ～ 仏様や先祖さんは このために、この日のために、あの時の出来事を用意してくれていたのか」って。ですから、理不尽なことや、意味なんか分からないことも、いつか必ずつながるんだと思っていた方がいいのです。何一つとして無駄な経験はありません。経験を無駄にする人がいるだけです。今を、この瞬間の連続を、本気で生きていこうと思う修正会でした。恩や感謝、有難うやお陰 … これに勝る幸せはありません。合掌
